|Jan. 18th, 2010 12:26 pm Monster (Master/Lucy) Video Description|
Okay, so if you're reading this, you are either out of your mind or wanted to know what was going on in my Youtube video and clicked on this link in the description box. So without further to do, here is the description:
The video starts off with the Master ‘teasing’ Lucy about dirty things ._0 which makes her terribly uncomfortable but he doesn’t seem to mind. He more or less rapes her and then brags to the Doctor about what he did as Lucy watches in humiliation and disgust. She wonders how a relationship that started off seeming so blissful could be reduced to this and what she did to cause its demise.
‘The night he caged her’ refers to the night he took her to Utopia. The only reason she had agreed to go was because she wanted to try and fix their relationship. It didn’t work. She was horrified at what she saw and, to make it worse, the Master decided that it would be a good time to try out some new moves and violence sounded sexy so why not?. She lost all faith in everything that night; in her marriage, in her race, and in herself. He left her broken and damaged both physically and emotionally.
Yet, she let it happen. There was always some glimmer of madness telling her that it would all somehow magically work out in the end. So she let him do whatever he wanted to to her because she didn’t want to lose him. She suffered in silence, with no one to really talk to and no desire to complain about the man she loved so dearly.
By the time the Master realized what exactly was going on and how she felt, she had him at gunpoint. She had finally had enough so she shot him to save herself.
But she had not truly been saved. While in prison, she had time to think, to harp on everything that had happened. She loved him. She hated him. He was a monster to her. He had also been one of the best things that happened to her. She didn’t know how she should feel about him. She missed him more than anything in the universe but she had wanted him dead. Her heart is broken and empty without him but she is trying so hard to convince herself that it was the right thing and that it had to be done and that she couldn’t blame herself.
When she is taken to assist in his resurrection, she is scared to death. She has wanted him back all this time but she is worried about what he will do to her when he comes back. She had shot him. He would not forgive her for that. He would surely beat her and never let her live it down for the rest of her life. As much as she wanted to be back in his arms, she would rather remember him when their relationship was not tainted by such a big thing as murder. And he had told her about regeneration. What if she didn’t recognize him? Would she still feel the same way? Doubts and worries flooded her mind in all directions.
Even when she shot him she knew that he would find a way back. Letting himself die was beyond him, even if just to annoy the Doctor. Though, she would have liked if it didn’t involve as many women on their knees for him…
There is a flashback of her father handing her a list of people who would be able to help her if the marriage had ever gone wrong to this extent. Her father and Harry had had a good relationship and he knew what he was. He was mildly worried for his daughter but trusted that the Master would never do anything to harm her. He just wanted to give Lucy the safety net. Neither of them had ever dreamed that it would be used.
The Master tries one final time to control her but she was fed up. She was sick of him overpowering her. He had made her blame herself for so many things that weren’t her fault. He had caused her to cry nearly every day for almost a year and a half, both on the Valiant and in prison. It was time to stop. This time she would finally set herself free in a way that was impossible before. She knew she was going to die, but then she would be rid of him. After all, till death do they part. He was not completely dead and therefore lingered with her, but now she would cut the final binding thread.
But once it was done, the Master is torn up. He did not want it to end that way. He loved her. He so desperately loved her. He was ready to spend the rest of her life with her now that he was to come back. He wanted Lucy at his side as he conquered the universe. He hadn’t expected that she would do this to herself. And it was all his fault. He did this to her. He hates himself for that. He can never forgive himself for doing something so horrible to someone he loved do much. If had had only stopped to think about what he was doing, Lucy would still be alive and he would not be heartbroken. He now thinks of himself as a monster. He sees the remains of the prison and screams in frustration, anger, loss, and severe remorse.
He can’t stop thinking about Lucy. As if the drums weren’t enough, he now additionally hears Lucy’s voice. The drums have to beat even louder in attempt to drown out the sound of her voice. The din in his head consumed him in every way possible, more so than ever before. He is completely alone and torn apart and he hated it as well as himself.
Lucy had been so brave to take her life back for herself and now, with Gallifrey returning, it was his turn. The Time Lords had stolen his sanity long ago. They had so kindly gifted him with the drums. They had made him the monster that ruined his wife. If Lucy was brave enough to redeem herself in her final moments, so was he. So, partly in Lucy’s honor, partly for his own revenge, he attacked them.
